Born in 1955, Hardy Rudolz has made a name for himself not only as an actor in musicals and plays, but also as a dubbing artist, entertainer, author and increasingly as a director. He completed his training from 1975 to 1978 at the Hedi Höpfner acting studio in Hamburg. He studied singing in Hamburg, Berlin and Vienna and dance in Berlin and Hamburg. Hardy Rudolz started his international career with appearances in the USA and England with an engagement as Principal Chanteur at the legendary Lido de Paris.
At the Theater des Westens in Berlin he played in musicals like My Fair Lady, A Chorus Line and Jesus Christ Superstar. In Hamburg he was given the role of Munkustrap in the premiere of Cats, then he caused a furore with the title role in Das Phantom der Oper. Many know his voice from their childhood days probably from Sesame Street - he worked as dubbing artist for many characters. At the Eutin Festival in 2012 he directed the operetta The Flower of Hawaii.
Colourful entertainment, great emotions - this is the enormous emotional range promised by director Tobias Materna for the production of the musical "A Cage Full of Fools" at the Eutin Festival.
The Korean baritone Hyunkyum Kim won the Eutin Festival prize of honour. Hilary Griffiths, Artistic Director Classical Music at the Festival, congratulated the 28-year-old singer on this success in the finale of the Maritim Music Prize.
