Benjamin Beckmann completes his musical training at the Joop Van Den Ende Academy in Hamburg. Various engagements have taken the native of Giessen to Kassel, Bielefeld, Fürth and Hameln, where he has appeared in La Cage aux Folles, Rent, Die Dreigroschenoper, Hello Dolly, Die Tagebücher von Adam und Eva, Der eingebildete Kranke and Charleys Tante. In Dinkelsbühl he plays Elwood in Blues Brothers and Kurt in Die Drei von der Tankstelle. In his adopted home of Hamburg he appears again and again at the Ernst Deutsch Theater, the Schmidt Theater and the Ohnsorg Theater. Together with a colleague, he developed the recital "Immer wenn du denkst es geht nicht mehr...", which premiered at the Hamburg Kammerspiele.
Colourful entertainment, great emotions - this is the enormous emotional range promised by director Tobias Materna for the production of the musical "A Cage Full of Fools" at the Eutin Festival.
The Korean baritone Hyunkyum Kim won the Eutin Festival prize of honour. Hilary Griffiths, Artistic Director Classical Music at the Festival, congratulated the 28-year-old singer on this success in the finale of the Maritim Music Prize.
