The season of the Eutin Festival traditionally ends with musical fireworks on the Seebühne. This popular gala will take place in 2020 on Saturday, September 5th, under the title "Viva la Musica: In Weber's Footsteps!
Programmatically, unlike the gala concert at the start of the season, the gala will not focus on compositions by Carl Maria von Weber, but on his travels to European metropolises at the beginning of the 19th century. Weber's musical guest appearances in Vienna, Prague, Munich, Dresden, Berlin and London form the stations for a gala program that combines classical music highlights with each of these cities.
Popular works from opera and operetta by Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner and Smetana, but also by Strauss, Lehár, Zeller and Millöcker are expected. Under the direction of Hilary Griffiths, renowned soloists, the Choir of the Festival and the Kammerphilharmonie Lübeck will perform the gala evening, with Rainer Wulff again acting as moderator.
