Fred Graham (Petruchio)
The Dutch baritone Peter Bording studied at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam (now Conservatorium van Amsterdam) and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. His enormous repertoire includes opera, operetta and musical. Also at home in contemporary music, he gives main roles in operas by Péter Eötvös and Michael Jarrell. In the role of Fred Graham he has already appeared at the Komische Oper Berlin and the Aalto-Musiktheater in Essen, and in opera Peter Bording has been successful in many title roles, including Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Pelléas et Mélisande at the Wiener Festwochen and at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
He chooses the leading roles in Werner Egks Peer Gynt and Verdi's Rigoletto as an introduction to a more difficult repertoire. His roles include Marcello in La Bohème, Germont in La Traviata and Escamillo in Carmen; in operetta he is in demand as Danilo (The Merry Widow), Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) and Edwin (Die Csárdásfürstin). Peter Bording acquires musical merits in The Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story, and he is part of the premiere cast of Cats in Amsterdam.
