Already in the second week of January the singers from Eutin and the surrounding area started rehearsing in the opera barn. Their weekly practice evenings will feature extremely demanding roles from Verdi's opera "Ein Maskenball" and for the gala evening.
At the first meeting, choir director Romely Pfund emphasised that there was still a need for more choir members to perform the wonderful pieces: "The male voices are right at the top of the list of priorities". The Korean baritone Hyunkyum Kim won the Eutin Festival prize of honour. Hilary Griffiths, Artistic Director Classical Music at the Festival, congratulated the 28-year-old singer on this success in the finale of the Maritim Music Prize.
